Various Comments & Misc Stuff

To find some potentially good songs for the Amiga that have already gone through a sort of preselection process or filter, please visit the following page:
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/favourites/
The link is not named "favorites" without a reason.

For further listening to songs that have gone through a sort of filter, I suggest you take a look at the following collections that are commercially available:

Amiga PD Music Mix 1, The (e.g. 10 Year Anniversary 2-CD Special Edition)
Best Of David Whittaker, The
Best Of Fred Gray, The
Best Of Matt Gray, The
Best of the Amiga Scene, The
Best Of The Maniacs Of Noise, The
Best Of Tim Follin, The
Commodore 64 PD Music Mix 1
Epic Themes 2, The

You do not, of course, have to buy them, but you can have a look at the track lists. Naturally, there are several unofficial collections as well, for example:

AmigaMusic com - Best of Amiga Music Vol 1
AmigaMusic com - Best of Amiga Music Vol 2

To get some further clues about what kind of music people prefer on the Amiga, you can visit http://amp.dascene.net/sondages.php?pview=20 and check out the links headlined:
"Who has composed the best chiptunes?"
"Who has released the best CD Album?"
"Who is the greatest Amiga Musician?"

Subotin Interview:
"Do you see chances for commercial c64/Amiga-remixes?
-Yes, though I feel it needs more exposure. I think commercial c64/Amiga remixes should be done in a way that would reach a wider audience and would attract the people outside of the community. I mean, c'mon, there is so much potential in SID music that would easily top commercial pop charts if remixed in the apropriate style :-) "

Taken from Volker "Dr Future" Buckow's interview with Dejan Subotin a.k.a. "Dafunk" / "Dejan S.", the Remixer Of The Year in 2007.

I couldn't agree more with Subotin on this issue about doing remixes in the way that they'd reach a wider audience. It's easier said than done though! However, there is no harm in trying. :) Another commercial idea would be to focus the main attention on various SID tunes and songs made on the Amiga instead of game soundtracks. Perhaps a commercial album consisting of arranged/remixed versions of various C64 SID tunes or songs made on the Amiga instead of game soundtracks could have a bigger potential. If I'm not mistaken, it's almost only the game soundtracks that have been used for financial gain.

Looking for / Need Help with:

1)
The tune used in the following crack intro video between about 4:40 and 5:00
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgle3x_XI3M
The cracktro seems to be "Bros Intro 02":
http://intros.c64.org/main.php?module=showintro&iid=167
http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=106001
However, the tunes associated with this intro that were listed on those sites above do not match the one on the video. I even checked all the other Bros intros found on noname.c64 to no avail.

2)
A song that was used in a Quartex or Quaram or Defjam crack intro for the Amiga. The song was quite simple and short and it used digitized speech samples saying "c'mon" or something like that.
